7 September (Monty Van Horn) This morning started at 0345 with a nice hot cup of coffee. Tammy Estes Van Horn, Loran Haferkamp, Rebekah Ann McDonald and I arrived a few minutes till 6 and Art Garcesa was there with his tent as well. We got things set up and got to visit with lots of friends before the start. Jonathan Coen was one of the early birds. Bill Cearley was glad to get some LMNT! Steve Veronesi also stopped by before lining up to ride. Tammy and the Haferkamps handed out 327 frozen wash cloths this year. I think we will get 500 rags next year. Scott Stanley and Keenan Culpepper visited a bit before heading to the starting line. Michael Allen Leatherwood stopped by looking for the Ham radio operations trailer. Art and I rode the 27 mile route and visited along the way. (I had a blast riding and visiting)Tammy got a video of us crossing the finish line. The line for Skittles was something! I changed into some comfortable clothes and visited with folks as they came in. It was great to meet Cindy Scioneaux Rivas who just recently subscribed to Christian Cycling. Idelfonso Valentin Acosta Jr. visited for a bit but headed out sooner than planned to check on his daughter. (Update: she had a sinus infection- claiming God's healing touch)  Gerald Bolin and Bora Bolin soaked up some shade while visiting as well. Keenan came back by and he was glad the ride was over! Great job brother! The angels that Kathy Sutton made were a huge hit! Vanessa Jan Pleban and Andrew McCabe came by the booth after the ride also. I seen them at the first rest stop during the ride as well. I told Andrew to take an angel back to Geary McCabe and Lisa, his parents. Great people at Sun Country Cycling for sure. As you can see in a couple pictures, Rebekah and Tammy were plum tuckerd out. (Photo Album Here - 53 pictures) LOL. One pleasant surprise was to see David Bridgewater drop in. He was on his way home from Austin and decided to come visit for a few. Mark D Cooks and Karen Hodges-Cooks dropped in. They are getting ready for the Pink Diamond’s Breast Cancer Awareness Bike Ride that is coming up. It was awesome to visit with so many folks! I know I got to visit with Joseph Lenz and Greg before and after the ride but guess I didn't get any pictures. Nancy Newman Goodnight, you and the whole crew did another great job! I love this ride. As things were winding down I went over to check out the radio club trailer. Dave N3DMC was headed that way so we walked over there and I took a picture. After breaking down we said a prayer and then headed out. We stopped for a bite to eat in McGregor. We had two Christian Cycling tents set up and could have used a third. We had a cople hundred folks come by visiting and as many as 15 or 20 in the area at the same time.

Check out the photo album link above, we had lots of folks visiting. Folks drank over eight (8) gallons of water, ate 40 bananas, 15 tangerines, 2 bags of pretzels, 2 bags of peanut butter filled pretzels, we had six (6) thats right six people that forgot their bottles and we gave them ours (we ran out). We gave away over 30 crochet bottle covers that Tammy made and over 60 angels with cards that Kathy had made. We also gave out 327 ice cold rags as mentioned above with lots of smiles and prayers!

6 September (Art Garcesa) We were blessed to be at Tour d'Athens today. We ran the 20mile rest stop and met our subscribed member Tina  from Paris, TX.

We are getting more and more folks dropping in when we set up at events. It may be time to get some more Christian Cycling Tents!?!? What so ya'll think?

Glossy Dental one of the vendor here needed a tent so we invited them over because we are expecting rain this morning. We are also cheering on Anjolie who is on her first triathlon event and our sister Karen Hodges-Cooks

Also on 1 September Brothers & Sisters - please join me in congratulating our two sisters in completing their first triathlon at the Blackland Triathlon in Plano, TX earlier today. We had a very blessed day and give all the glory to God! Karen Hodges-Cooks (our Duncanville Rep with Mark D Cooks) and also directors of the Pink Diamond Breast Cancer Bike Ride completed her first triathlon. Jelly Welly (lol Anjolie Theall) completed her first triathlon and showed us how our GenZ members does it. She came in 1st place in the 18-24 age range. We would like to give special thanks to both Francis Cortese & Debra Cortese for having Christian Cycling at this awesome event! Big thanks to Wrenchys Bikes (Seth Jackson) for his help and support. Congratulations to you both!

25 August (Maria Hoffman posted this) Very thankful with God for the opportunity to serve in our church before the Bike Race “Hotter’N Hell” after the painting Renovation & the cleaning with help from all God's servants. Video Link

25 August (Monty Van Horn posted this) If you like bickpacking contact Monty, he loves it. Here is a link to his latest bikepacking trip to Mother Neff State Park.

24 August (Monty Van Horn)  This morning while I was getting things ready for church, Tammy Estes Van Horn talked with Laura Bates on the radio. We stopped at HEB to get some ice and tea for Ethan VanHorn graduation "party" that he had no idea was happening. After another excellent Bible study with Dustin Connell and church service, we presented Ethan with his diploma. Everyone stuck around for cake and ice cream and gave him cards and hugs. After we got home, I headed out for Mother Neff State Park - Texas Parks and Wildlife on the bicycle. I arrived at 1600 hours so made really good time, even with the heat! I had to pull over and take a picture when it hit 114 degrees! Got camp set up, took a shower and then activated the park. I quit when Tammy and Ethan arrived with the pizza and cold water. We visited for quite a bit and I decided to pack up the radio equipment instead of trying to get two activations in this trip. Tammy and Ethan have headed home, I'm relaxing with a cup of coffee watching the sun dissappear. Y'all have a blessed night.

23 August (Monty Van Horn) This morning, Ethan VanHorn mowed the yard while I got our bikes ready for the "Support Christian Cycling Texas" ride. Tammy Estes Van Horn, Ethan and I took off at 1100 hours. We rode to Pruitts for a drink and then headed back. I sent a text to let folks know we were on our way back. The plan was to surprise Tammy since today is our 39th wedding anniversary. She was surprised and the church family had taken over nearly all the tables. Sherry L Lee had rode her bike to Marshall's Comeback BBQ for our little gathering. (Great food!) Nancy Jordan brought the cake and plates! Crystal Cockrell and Sherry were the lead cheerleaders as we arrived. It was good to see Regena Whaley and Don Vess there. We have been missing them while they were on vacation. Tammy sat with Nancy, Crystal Loran Haferkamp and Rebekah Ann McDonald and I sat with Edwin A Rivers and Natalie. Chuck Dare visited with Barry Jordan. As ya'll know, time is the most valuable asset we have, and I can't put into words good enough to explain what it meant or felt like to see y'all taking time out of your lives to celebrate our special day. Thank y'all very much. I also want to thank everyone that sent their congratulations to us via the digital highway. When we got home, I packed up the bike for my next adventure while Tammy got Ethan cake ready for tomorrow. I'm heading to Mother Neff after church tomorrow. Photo Album Here

23 August (Art Garcesa) TO GOD ALL THE GLORY!!! Hotter N Hell...
HH100 has become a tradition for ChristianCycling.org and Christian Cycling - Texas. We were very blessed to set up a tent at the finish line village for the 3rd year in a row and share the love and gospel of Christ to all who came - Christian and non-christians alike.

We got busy working on Friday afternoon, rode the endurance routes Saturday, and went back home - we did this all and give thanks to the Lord for his blessings and protection.

I am so sorry I did not get to take pictures with everyone. We got busy and got pulled into so many directions like a ball in a pinball machine. It was great to see all of our brothers and sisters from NTC, STCC, DC, and many other great clubs that our members are a part of where they are shining their lights in those clubs.

We were also blessed to have our El Paso rep John Borrego, our Abeline reps Kathy Sutton and Lonnie Sutton join our North Texas family for HH100.

23 August (Jeff Postell) The 2025 Hotter N Hell 100 is now a blast from the past. I had a good ride this morning. As always the struggle is real for any 100 mile + ride I do. I don’t enjoy the struggles but I do enjoy the ride. I know it doesn’t make sense but it makes sense to me and that’s what matters.

22 August (Jeff Postell) Vicki and I are all set for tomorrow's Hotter N Hell 100 Bike Rally. We can expect a pleasant starting temperature of 72 degrees. For those who may not be familiar with HHH, the Hotter'N Hell Hundred is a multi-day cycling event held in Wichita Falls, Texas, featuring the largest single-day 100-mile bicycle ride nationwide, along with mountain bike races, trail runs, gravel rides, and finish line festivities. The event's name references the extreme heat often experienced during the 100-mile ride in August. Established in 1982, it attracts thousands of riders worldwide for a challenging and celebratory event that caters to various distance preferences for both competitive and non-competitive riders.

(I contacted Jeff and plan on having our motorhome next to him and his wife next year!)

18 August (Thomas Kerr - new subscriber) Hi all! Just joining this group and wanted to introduce myself. I ride recreationally, and occasionally I convince my wife to join (though HHH100 is out of the question). I ride mostly with my son (a rising junior at TAMU) and daughter (a soon to be Freshman at Baylor). These and two younger kids are a work in progress. Appreciate the work and the mission. Myself, a few sibling, and a few friends will be at HHH100 this weekend. Hope to see you all.

16 August (Art Garcesa) Planting seeds and helping out. We had another blessed day at White Rock Lake earlier today. Thank you to all for your help and support! Big thanks to our brother Kurtis Register for helping us this week and last week. This concludes Christian Cycling's 3rd Annual HH100 Training Ride. We had a lot of traffic today from non Christian Cycling and NTC members. We were glad that we were able to help out our fellow riders with fruits, food, water, gatorade, LMNT, and Liquid IV to folks who stopped by. We are very blessed.

9 August (Monty Van Horn) Had a great day today. Jack Carmicheal Thompson picked me up about 0600 and we headed to Copperas Cove for the Cove House Classic. Was a pleasant surprise to see the traffic control guy was Kenneth Hilligas. I got to visit with him a little bit before the ride started. I only did the 51-mile route today. It was a great ride indeed. It was nice to see Mahesh and Nixon at the end. Looking forward to next year. This evening, Tammy Estes Van Horn and I took some stuff over to the motorhome (Samson) to put in the freezer. Looking forward to our next Adventure.Jack and Monty rode in the Cove House Classic again this year. It was good to see some old friends and make some new.

4 August (Jim Boland) Today Waterworks Mountain BikeTrail Ride, Hot Springs, Arkansas. Went out and at 2 miles had rock punture tire. Fixed on trail but headed back to trail head for another CO2 cartridge.  Coach Bonnie Boland at trail head in the shade: "You aren't done already are you?" Needless to say got CO2 cartridge and immediately headed back out. (I might join another team. My current coach is kinda tough)

Image title

3 August (Jim Boland) When your Coach Bonnie Boland says you haven't trained enough in the mountains and need some climb training you pack the RV and head to Hot Springs. Plus they have great kayaking.

Image title

2 August (Art Garcesa) I did not get a chance to get a lot of pictures but it was great to see everyone at the Blazin Saddle75 in Granbury! God bless.

31 July (Jim Boland)  The key to training for Hotter'N Hell is........mix the rides; Mountain, Gravel and Road rides. Today was mountain bike at Sister Grove Mountain Bike Trail. If you ride late, it's hot. If you ride early you become an Arachnologist. Many different species of spider webs and piders when you are the first on the trail. Coach Bonnie Boland saying of the day; "you are crazy!"  I respect her opinion! LOL
