White Rock Lake: Earlier today (12 August 2023). We had setup a support/rest stop for our brothers and sisters who were training for HH100. We had Sumit, Victor (not on FB), and Fabian join us along with our brothers and sisters from North Texas Cycling.

It was an incredibly hot day which simulated HH100 conditions including wind and elevation gained. Our main goals today were to support the ride and to also provide cold water and cold water bottles to pedestrians, joggers/runners, and other cyclist.

We pick the location just south of Boy Scout Hill Pavilion because we are very familiar with this spot on the northeast corner of the lake. This location is also a high traffic area for riders, runners/joggers, and pedestrian visiting the lake with family and friends. On any given Saturday or Sunday, there at least 1000-1500 people passing by.

This event was posted earlier in the week in three facebook groups (Christian Cycling - Texas, North Texas Cycling, and Dallas Cycloholics). We did not know how many were going to attend but for logistics we had planned for 15 riders.

For rider fuel we brought with us 3 dozen bananas, 4 loaves of PBJ sandwiches, chocolate chip cookies, and 2 pans of homemade banana nut bread. For rider hydration we brought 15 gallons water, 4 gallons of orange Gatorade, and 40lbs of ice.

We had over 120 water bottles to give out but I had only brough 40 and forgot the other 2 cases. We ran out of water bottles within the 1st hour and a half of being there. Since we are going to be hosting this event again next Saturday, I will bring with us 160 bottles. When I had finished my ride at 1750H, there were still riders and pedestrians asking for water.
