Well, the riding season has started again. Most of the Christian Cycling – Texas subscribers have been riding on various trainers and some have been riding “together” on Zwift. But there is nothing like getting back in the saddle out on the open roads!

We kicked off the riding season by participating in the annual Freeze Your Fanny ride in Longview Texas. Freeze your Fanny is the major fundraiser for East Texas Lightnin’, an independent team of athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Their athletes participate in Special Olympics Texas events.

It was an honor and a privilege to set up our hospitality booth at the event this year. Freeze Your Fanny Bike Ride was blessed by God as the rain stopped just p[rior to the event and didn’t start back up until all the riders had finished. Art Garcesa had the hospitality booth set up and Margie Estes Bellomy had delivered 10 dozen donuts and 7 thermos of coffee, while we ate breakfast at the local hotel.Monty rode the 35.5 mile route while the other Christian Cycling - Texas members manned the booth. Eight dozen donuts were served with 104 cups of coffee, 30 cups of hot chocolate, almost 20 gallons of water, a couple dozen bananas and half a bag of oranges. I got to visit with a few folks really interested in the Christian Cycling. You can view quite a few pictures right here.

Ryan Schmidt (Cedar Park) got in quite a few miles for the Rapha Festiuve 500 during the cold weather in December!  Thanks for the picture
